Important Message to Membership

Dear TFAA Membership,

It has come to our attention that the current electronic vote regarding our proposed bylaw amendments is in breach of our established bylaw practices. I would like to personally acknowledge my oversight of two critical stipulations and sincerely thank the members who came forward to allow us the opportunity to rectify this.

Our goal has always been to engage all members and ensure every voice is heard; however, in our effort to make voting accessible, we inadvertently stepped outside of our current requirements. Please accept my apologies for this mistake.

Cancellation of Current Vote Effective immediately, we are canceling the electronic vote that was recently sent out.

Notice of Electronic Meeting To comply with our current bylaws—which require that amendments be voted on by members “present and voting at a regular meeting” following two weeks’ notice—we will host a special electronic meeting of the membership:

  • Date: Wednesday, April 8th
  • Time: 7:00 PM
  • Location: Digital Meeting (Link to follow)

Meeting Agenda & Process During this meeting, we will go through the proposed amendments article by article. This will allow the Board to provide explanations, answer questions, and hear discussion from the membership. We will then hold a vote on each individual article rather than one single vote for all changes. This process ensures we meet bylaw expectations while allowing for meaningful dialogue and adjustments based on member input.

Important Reminders:

  • Meeting Link: Please look for the meeting notice on the TFAA website tomorrow. A follow-up email containing the digital meeting link will be sent in the coming days.
  • Proxy Voting: Please note that our current bylaws do not allow for proxy voting; you must be present at the digital meeting to cast your vote.

Our priority remains finding the best way to serve this organization while upholding the rules that govern us. We appreciate your patience and your commitment to the TFAA.

Sincerely,

TFAA Board of Directors
